Mountain Training
LOCATION
The Cline River Heliport (CCR5) is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, 10 minutes from the Continental Divide giving some of the
most spectacular views possible any where in the world. This also means that the training is in some of the most rugged and challenging yet satisfying areas only 2 minutes from the first landing. Getting there is accessed through two major international airports, Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta. The three-hour drive from Calgary along the Icefield Parkway is as spectacular as the flight training.
COURSE INSTRUCTOR
Ralph Sliger has extensive training and mountain flight experience since he started flying in 1973. He has been a heli-ski pilot since 1997 and a mountain pilot since 1990. He was also a Canadian Air Force Reserve pilot with the rank of Captain flying the Twin Huey Bell 212 and the Griffon Bell 412. Ralph Sliger is presently the owner and training pilot at Kananaskis Mountain Helicopters Ltd.
HELICOPTERS
Kananaskis Mountain Helicopters Ltd offers the choice of the Bell 206B, Long Ranger or Astar helicopters. These turbine helicopters are ideal
for this environment and low cost for training.
